Imagine that you’re walking down the street. Your hands are numb from the cold, you haven’t eaten a meal in two days, and your feet seem to get heavier with each step. No one seems to care.
This was Matt’s reality: “Being on the streets, I used to just roam around, and I was very hungry. I felt bad, my stomach really hurt and a lot of the time I couldn’t sleep because of it. I prayed every night that things would change. The first meal I had at the Mission was pretty good; they had steak! I felt very thankful. Since that steak, I am eight months sober, and I have a lot of hope. For the first time in my life I’m actually dealing with my issues and learning how to be a Christ-like human being.”
You and I may never actually know the fear of homelessness, but we can try and imagine what it feels like for those who do, and we can help them! As a friend of Lighthouse Mission, you can help make sure every person coming through our doors receives a Thanksgiving meal served with a smile. One meal costs just $2.17.
Your generous donation will help provide food, shelter, and life-changing services to people who, like Matt, are wearied by homelessness.
