Julianne’s Story

My life before landing at the Lighthouse Mission in April 2015:

As my judgment was very clouded by alcohol and other drugs, I thought I had a very wonderful life. I would wake up to vodka and go to sleep with vodka. I still did everything a sober person would, like hold down a job, but I used alcohol and other drugs to cover up my pain of feeling so alone in this world. My whole life, I thought drinking was okay, because everyone around me was always drinking. I finally hit rock bottom in April 2015 when I lost the place I was staying at. I had my job until that June. I lost everything because of my drinking.

The Mission has been a warm place to lay my head at night and my source of food to keep hunger pains away.

The Lighthouse Mission has been there for me since the first night in April. They helped me to see that no matter what, God is always by my side. Even in the dark, scary places of my life. The Mission has been a warm place to lay my head at night and my source of food to keep hunger pains away. The Mission gave me my hope back. If the Mission was not here I would probably still be waking up and going to sleep with alcohol and drugs. The Mission is the reason I have hope and the reason I’m clean and sober. I can proudly say that since October 28, 2015, I have not had any alcohol to drink or any other drugs.

Thank you for giving me my life back.
