Devani’s Story
When Devani first came to the Lighthouse Mission, she was filled with uncertainty.
“At first, I didn’t know if I could do it, if it was worth it,” she said. “But I stayed. And I changed. I brought my baby home to Agape Home, and it turned out better than I ever imagined. This place gave me safety, support, and a fresh start.”
Devani had been through a lot. Like many women at Agape Home, she was carrying hurt, fear, and doubt. But little by little, things started to shift. You made space for healing and hope.
“What’s made the biggest difference? It’s not just the meetings or structure, it’s the people. The women I live with. The staff. The families. Being surrounded by others who care, grow, and show up for each other is changing me into someone I never thought I could be.”
Recovery hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it. Thanks to you, moms are getting their kids back.
“Many women come in unsure, broken, on the edge of giving up, but they stay. And when they do, they change. They get their kids back. They grow in confidence. They start over. I see it every day.”
Devani said what’s helped the most is learning from others around her.
“It’s not just the parenting classes, it’s watching other moms in recovery, learning from them, and realizing I’m not alone, being here is helping me become the mom my daughter deserves.”

“I’ve crashed my life before, but this time is different. I want to stay. I want to grow. I want to teach and give back. I see how far I’ve come and how much more is possible.”
