About the program

Agape Home is for women ready to do the hard, hopeful work of recovery. Up to two years of clinical practice, biblical teaching, and a community of women on the same journey.

How it works

A Christ-centered path to lasting change

Every woman who enters Agape Home begins with an individual assessment. From there, the program is built around her, her history, her needs, and her goals. Here are the pillars that shape the journey.

Phase 1

Relapse prevention

Agape Home is a nationally certified provider of the Genesis Process, combining biblical teaching with clinical practice to address the roots of substance use and self-destructive behaviour.

Phase 2

One-on-one case management

Every woman is paired with a dedicated case manager who meets with her regularly, tracks her progress, adjusts her plan, and advocates for her needs throughout the program.

Phase 3

Family-focused care

For women with children, care plans are built with the whole family in mind. Parenting classes, family reunification support, and child-focused programming are woven into the journey.

Phase 4

Life skills and financial literacy

Classes in budgeting, healthy relationships, boundaries, and daily life skills give women the practical foundation they need to live independently when they leave.

Phase 5

Behavioural health support

Weekly on-site mental health professionals and referrals to behavioural health services address the trauma, domestic violence, and mental illness that often underlie women's experiences of homelessness.

Phase 6

Spiritual growth

Chapel services, Bible study, discipleship, and pastoral counselling are available to every resident. We believe faith is at the heart of lasting transformation. It is woven into every part of the program, never forced.

As she told her story of chasing “that living water,” Wendy recounted, “My stepfather became the fatherly figure that I had. He was an alcoholic. So, always with the fear of how he was going to be feeling each day. Kind of like walking on eggshells. When I needed the love, the love was given to the bottle.
