Ascent is for men ready to do the deep work. Not just get sober, but understand why. Up to two years of clinical practice, biblical teaching, and a community committed to the same journey.

How it works

A Christ-centered path to lasting change

Every man who enters Ascent begins with an individual assessment. From there, the program is built around him, not the other way around. Here are the pillars that shape the journey.

Phase 1

Relapse prevention

Ascent is a nationally certified provider of the Genesis Process, an evidence-based program that combines biblical teaching with clinical practice to address the roots of substance use and self-destructive behaviour.

Phase 2

One-on-one case management

Every man is assigned a dedicated case manager who meets with him regularly, monitors his progress, adjusts his plan, and advocates for his needs throughout the program.

Phase 3

Life skills and financial literacy

Classes in budgeting, employment, healthy relationships, and daily life skills give men the practical tools they need to function independently when they leave.

Phase 4

Workforce development

Resume building, interview preparation, and work therapy help men re-enter the workforce with confidence and real experience.

Phase 5

Behavioural health support

Weekly on-site mental health professionals address the trauma and mental illness that often underlie homelessness and addiction.

Phase 6

Spiritual growth

Chapel services, Bible study, discipleship, and pastoral counselling are available to every resident. Faith is woven into the program, never forced.

After overdosing, he was found unresponsive in Puyallup and taken to the hospital in Auburn. Doctors discovered a severe staph infection in his spine. He spent two months in the hospital receiving IV treatment to fight the infection. It was a painful season, and when he was discharged, he came to Bellingham.
