I said a silent questioning prayer, “Why do we even do this, Lord?” I asked. “What difference are we making?”
And, like God will do from time to time… He answered immediately: “Look closer, Lauri… Pay attention.” (He seems to have to tell me that a lot.) So I did.
“I was one of those guys out there panhandling. I must be honest with you folks, it was not for food, your help funded my addiction to alcohol and drugs.”
In March, Mike entered our recovery program. He later said, “My life has changed.” Now he has over five months clean and sober.
You supported Ben – and his family. Ben Holmes had many struggles and lived at the Mission’s Drop-In Center on and off. After he passed away, his parents attended the memorial service we hosted and learned something surprising.

First, let me tell you how much I love you; as great as the

Robert is no stranger to hard stories. He grew up in an environment filled with drugs, alcohol, and crime. As an adult, he was in and out of prison and moved all over the country trying to escape the consequences of his decisions. After 30 years, he got tired of running. He met his wife and got married. Then his brother died.
