A Family on the Mend

Crystal grew up in with addiction in her family. She became addicted herself at age 14 and has been in and out of jail and prison. Her first child was born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Crystal got herself cleaned up, but later relapsed and her kids went into foster care. She worked very hard, went to treatment (and has now been sober for 3 years), and got her three kids back!

They then moved to Bellingham to live with a family member, but after a few months, that fell apart. They were homeless. The police brought them to the Mission and it just so happened (a divine appointment!) that Agape Home had an opening for them. Crystal shares, “Now I feel reborn, confident, and accountable. I’m not alone and I can parent better now! I can share with my peers and spread the love while I’m here! I feel safe and secure!”

Thank you for giving Crystal and her children a safe place to stay while they get back on their feet.
